The Photograph below is by Davis Ayer from his Time Travel collection. Ayer illuminated memories on nude bodies compressing emotions, time and consciousness. The Photographer is addressing the idea that everyone experiences that same generic memories and individuals pasts are not always unique. This is present through projecting other people memories on the another person who does not necessarily identify with that Persons life. The artist wanted to study how we can emphasise with other peoples experiences and everyones general past. Throughout is series he projects memories through landscapes. Davis Ayer blacks out the background to his images and only shows the projected image that lands on the body, this increased the focus on the concept of memories, and draws attention to the body and image rather than whats going on in the background, thus shows the personal connection between the person and memory.

This is my photograph in response to Davis Ayer, I used slides of my families past memories and projected them onto someone with no relation to the image. However is shows a scene of nature that majority of people can relate to. This is exploring Ayer's idea that people can relate and identify with memories other than their own. Using Photoshop i blacked out the background which contained the remains of the projection and only kept what appeared on the body. Unlike Ayer i used a male body as it further related to an aspect of my work, the absence of a father figure. Similarly to Ayer i projected a landscape however u chose nature over a cityscape. Ayers work has more blue tones and a cooler feel to them i went against this idea and went for a warm saturated image to create a hazy feel alongside positive vibrant feelings. I wanted to create images similar to Davis Ayers and feel that i successfully did this by choosing an appropriate slide to project and editing as closely as i could to Davis Ayers work.
